Success Story: From Sabi Education to Tokyo - Akash’s Journey
Akash, sitting amidst the busy streets of Kathmandu, nursed a powerful dream: to pursue higher education in Japan. Having completed his degree in Engineering, he was profoundly drawn to Japan’s technological advancement and structured way of life. He understood that before anything else, the language was the first door he needed to open.
With this conviction, Akash enrolled at Sabi Education Group. In Sabi's classrooms, he underwent rigorous training for the N4 and N3 levels of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). The instructors taught him not just the language but also about Japan's strict discipline, the critical importance of maintaining an attendance rate above 90%, and the formal business etiquette, known as $Keigo$.
"The discipline I learned at Sabi made the immigration process in Nepal and my subsequent life in Japan much easier," Akash recalls.
Thanks to Sabi's expert guidance and thorough document preparation, his COE (Certificate of Eligibility) and visa process went smoothly. After two months of preparation and support from Sabi, Akash landed at Haneda Airport in Tokyo on a crisp morning.
Struggle and Breakthrough in Tokyo
His initial days in Tokyo were tough. High rent, loneliness, and limited Japanese skills forced him into physically demanding work at a box factory. The pressure of balancing the 28-hour weekly work limit with the heavy daily college workload was mentally exhausting.
However, the resilience and strong language foundation he built at Sabi prevented him from giving up. His persistence paid off: within six months, he passed the N3 level. This certificate helped him secure a much better job at a Japanese restaurant, moving him from the kitchen to a customer-facing role.
The restaurant work gave him valuable daily practice speaking Japanese. He learned to manage his income and expenditures wisely. Crucially, his school attendance always remained above 95%, eliminating the anxiety surrounding his visa renewal.
Today, Akash has successfully completed language school and is enrolled in a prestigious technical college in Tokyo for Information Technology (IT). He is now capable of financing a portion of his college fees independently through his part-time work.
Akash’s story is an inspiration to every Nepali student: Challenges exist in Japan, but with the right preparation from Sabi Education Group and the student’s own hard work and perseverance, the door to success is wide open.
